Greenberg School - Integrated Novel Unit About the Holocaust In this unit, students develop reading, writing, and critical thinking skills, while learning about
this critical time in world history and learning about hate, propaganda, empathy, tolerance, and equity. The graphic novel
Maus Part 1, by Art Spiegelman, is the centerpiece of this unit. Students love reading this book. Reluctant readers are interested
in it because the graphic novel is not a form they usually see in school. The grant funds cover the costs of a classroom set
